Sunday, May 28

HAWLEY, PA — Memorial Day parade lines up at 12 noon, steps off at 1 p.m., immediately following an American Legion program at the monument, Main to Church Street to Hudson. Hot dogs at the senior center for participants.

Monday, May 29

FREMONT CENTER, NY — 132nd Annual Fremont Center Memorial Day Parade: 9 a.m. Road closure; lineup just above the Fremont Center Community Church. Special memorial service at New Veteran’s Park (next to town barn) at 9:30 a.m. Parade starts at 10 a.m. through Fremont Center to the baseball field. Refreshments before, during and after parade.

HONESDALE, PA — Memorial Day parade down Main Street. Lineup 9 a.m. at Triangle Park on North Main Street; parade steps off 10 a.m. Ceremony in Central Park.

LIBERTY, NY — On behalf of The Town of Liberty and Cpl. Russell D. Sprague American Legion Post #109, the parade will line up at 10 a.m., step off at 10:30 a.m. and travel through the business district in the Village of Liberty, proceed down Church Street, and end at the Liberty Veterans Cemetery on Cold Spring Road. At the cemetery, there will be a short service to honor our war heroes.

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — Livingston Manor Memorial Day Parade and Service. Line up at 9:30 a.m. at the Livingston Manor Central School, 19 School Street.

ROSCOE, NY — Parade starts at 10 a.m. with the memorial ceremony following immediately after at the Roscoe Firehouse.

WURTSBORO, NY — Mamakating American Legion Post 1266 will sponsor the Memorial Day Parade with a 12:30 p.m. lineup on Pine Street in front of the Post. Parade steps off at 1 p.m., and will end at the Veterans Park. At the conclusion of the parade there will be a service. Refreshments will be served at the Post home on 92 Pine Street.

SERVICES

Sunday, May 28

BLOOMINGBURG, NY — Village of Bloomingburg will host a Memorial Day Service at 1 p.m. at the Bloomingburg Cemetery. Shawanga Mountain V.F.W. Post 4947 will provide the cemetery service.

NARROWSBURG, NY — The Tusten Settlement Association holds a service at the Old Baptist Church located on Route 97 four-and-a-half miles south of Narrowsburg, 2 p.m. Guest speaker Richard Vandevelde of the American Legion Post 1363, with members of the VFW Tusten, Highland, Lumberland Post 6427 and local clergy participating, followed by a graveside salute. Refreshments served afterward. American flags will be accepted for proper disposal by the American Legion.

TOWN OF TUSTEN, NY — VFW Post 6427 holds cemetery ceremonies to honor our deceased Veterans, 11:45 a.m. at  Lava Cemetery; 12 noon at St. Francis Cemetery; 12:15 p.m. at Glen Cove Cemetery; 2 p.m. at the Old Tusten Church.

WOODRIDGE, NY — Memorial Service 4 p.m. at Veterans Park on Roosevelt Avenue. If it rains, participants will meet in the village hall.

Monday, May 29

BARRYVILLE, NY — At 9:30 a.m., the Sylvan Liebla American Legion Post 1363 will conduct a memorial service at the Barryville Cemetery, Mail Road.

BETHEL, NY — At 11 a.m. a memorial service at Town of Bethel Veterans Park, Kauneonga Lake. Refreshments follow at the Town of Bethel Senior Building.

ELDRED, NY — At 9 a.m. Sylvan Liebla American Legion Post 1363 will conduct a memorial service at Eldred Cemetery. At 3:30 p.m., Tusten Highland Lumberland VFW Post 6427 and Sylvan Liebla American Legion Post 1363 will conduct a joint memorial service at Heroes Park, corner of Route 55 and Proctor Road, in Eldred.

FORESTBURGH, NY — A 9 a.m. Memorial Day service will be conducted at the Veterans Triangle, Route 42 South. Sponsored by the Town of Forestburgh. The American Legion, Jewish Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars will participate in the color guard. Refreshments will follow at the Fireman’s Pavilion. Master of ceremonies - Al Etkin.

GLEN SPEY, NY — Town of Lumberland Memorial Day observance at the Lumberland Town Hall, 1054 Proctor Rd., at 10 a.m. All are welcome. Refreshments served. 845/856-6372.

LONG EDDY, NY — The Allan Milk Memorial VFW Post 7276 will hold services in Long Eddy Catholic Cemetery at 1 p.m., luncheon to follow at Long Eddy Firehouse.

MONTICELLO, NY — Memorial Day service at 10:30 a.m. at the county government center, 100 North St. The ceremonies will be hosted by the local Monticello-based veterans organizations: The American Legion, the Jewish War Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The keynote speaker will be Phil Conaty, Esq. newly-elected New York State president of the Elks Association. Al Etkin is master of ceremonies. Refreshments follow at the Elks Lodge on North Street.

NEVERSINK, NY — Flag Ceremony at 11 a.m. at the flagpole, Grahamsville Cemetery. Flag exchange: Burgoyne Knight’s flag will come down and Fred Ahren’s flag will go up.
