GRAHAMSVILLE, NY — Time and the Valleys Museum at 332 Main St. will offer a couple of classes for gardeners in March. On Sunday, March 12 at 2 p.m. there will be a basic seed-starting class. The Bearfoot Gardener Russel Scheirer will share seed-starting techniques and the steps that follow. Participants will also learn vocabulary to help choose seeds, including annual, perennial, heirloom, organic, open pollinated, hybrid and GMO. This is a hands-on program for all ages. Refreshments are included. The course is free for members, and costs $3 for non-members.
On Sunday, March 26 at 2 p.m. will be “Propagating Heirloom Perennials.” It is a presentation on propagating heirloom and deer resistant perennials by John Story, who received his B.S. from Cornell University and has extensive experience and knowledge in many areas of horticulture. Refreshments are included. The course is free for members, and costs $3 for non-members.
