HURLEYVILLE, NY — The Hurleyville Maker’s Lab (HML) presents Branch Marquetry with Bo Stevens on April 22 from 1 to 4 p.m. Marquetry is the art and craft of applying pieces of veneer to a structure to form decorative patterns, designs or pictures. Learn about the history of marquetry from early civilizations to the present modern studio furniture masters. Stevens will share his technique and process through a shop demonstration of some of the critical steps in his artistry, slicing branches of twigs into veneer to make branch marquetry furniture.
Stevens is an artist and cabinet maker who lives in Eldred.
The workshop fee is $5 for HML members and $10 for non-members. Register at hurleyvillemakerslab.org.
