DINGMANS FERRY, PA — The Pocono Environmental and Education Center (PEEC) will offer a program called ‘Tweets and Sweets’ on Saturday, May 13 from 9 to 11 a.m. Join PEEC staff for a hike that focuses on bird ID and their unique natural history. Participants will have breakfast snacks & beverages before they head out. PEEC will provide binoculars and field guides. For ages 10-plus. The cost is $5.
Then, for Mother’s Day, you can “Pamper Mom in the Poconos” on Saturday, May 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Attention all mothers! Join us for a relaxing day of activities that’s all about you! We’ll be offering a mindfulness program, yoga, an edible and medicinal plant walk, and a wine and painting class. Lunch, dinner, and your choice of a perennial from our annual plant sale are included. Preregistration is required. This program is partially funded by the AllOne Foundation. The cost is $35.
On May 13 and 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. there will be a plant sale. Choose from a variety of native and deer-resistant flowers and grasses to beautify your yard. Perennials include coneflowers, bee balm, asters, yarrow, lungwort and more. Sun-loving and shade-loving plants will be available. Admission is free.
There will also be a pre-sale for PEEC members only on Friday, May 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. Call well in advance with your requests. Remaining plants will be sold throughout the week.
