Many chapters ago in our great American story, there was a tedious idea to unite the nation in what seemed like an impossible plan. The plan took almost 40 years to complete, traversing many physical obstacles as well as those of political manipulation, financial self-dealing, land grabs, greed and abuse of the labor force.

For some reason conductors in Santa hats seemed wrong. It would be nice if they were giving free train passes, but that is never the case. Well, that was last week. Now, as we get closer to ending this year’s journey around the sun, we wonder what the new year will bring.
Well, I was hoping by the Friday after the election, things would return to normal in the third car of the 5:07 a.m. out of Port Jervis; silly me. It had been a slow boil to Tuesday’s election and the car had been clearly divided by party lines.
Hope you enjoyed Indian Summer. It officially ended over the weekend; the cold wind and rain cleared out most of the leaves from the trees.
