March 6, 2013 —
The first annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will march down the streets of Narrowsburg on March 17 at 1 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Narrowsburg Inn, Roto-Rooter Plumbing, Enviroventures and VIP Restroom Trailers. The Grand Marshal will be Lou “Big Al” Ferriger.
The shops on Main Street will have special deals, like a free coffee when you order a sandwich at Coffee Creations. The Chamber of Commerce will sponsor face painting and The Heron and The Narrowsburg Inn will offer one free beer to participants of the parade. After the parade, there will be bagpipe music at The Narrowsburg Inn until 5 p.m., followed by a DJ until 8 p.m.
Ned Lang, one of the organizers and a sponsor of the parade, said he started the parade because the Town of Tusten has lost the event EagleFest and the fireworks last summer and this will be a great way to “get people in town and share our community with them.” He also notes that this will be a continuing event.
