Albert “Don” Donahue, Jr., age 92, of Glen Spey, NY passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Milford Senior Care, Milford, PA. He was 92.
He was born on February 28, 1919 in Tusten, NY, the son of the late Albert and Lillian Dexter Donahue.
Don was a retired truck driver for the Sullivan County Highway Department in Glen Spey. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Eldred American Legion.
He is survived by four sisters, Tiny Brown of Glen Spey, Adele LaBarr of Narrowsburg, NY, Nellie Hjerrild of Milford and Lena Kent of Port Jervis, NY; two brothers, Lester Donahue of Wurtsboro, NY and John “Wick” Donahue of Narrowsburg; and several nieces and nephews including his special niece Shannon Cassel.
He is predeceased by his brother George Donahue.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 16 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., Port Jervis, NY, with Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst officiating. Interment took place at Glen Spey Cemetery, Glen Spey.
