HIGHLAND LAKE, NY — The NACL Theatre will present “The Pigeoning” by Robin Frohardt on Sunday, August 18, at 4 p.m.
“The Pigeoning” is a darkly comedic puppet piece which uses bunraku puppetry, original music and video to examine man’s obsession with cleanliness, safety and control. The story follows one man (Frank) and his transformation from a state of order, fastidiousness and hygienic neurosis to the careless dishevelment and mania of a surrendering madness.
Creator/director Robin Frohardt collaborates with composer Freddi Price and a tight ensemble of five puppeteers to devise humorous dialogue-free scenes that capture the absurdity of Frank’s journey. The performance is being developed at HERE Arts Center in New York City, where it will premiere later next year.
Tickets cost $20/$12 students. Visit www.nacl.org or call 845-557-0694.
