MONTICELLO, NY — The Forestburgh Theatre Arts Center (FTAC) will present three performances of Tennessee Williams’ play “The Glass Menagerie” from September 30 to October 2 at the Eugene D. Nesin Theatre, 22 St. John Street. Performances are scheduled for Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, October 2 at 3 p.m. Tickets cost $10 for students, $15 for seniors and $20 for general admission.
This 80-minute modernized production has been adapted for the stage by Dana Martin, a director and teaching artist from California who now serves as company manager at Forestburgh Playhouse. Martin said of her re-visioning, “The story of ‘The Glass Menagerie’ is delicate and painful, as family matters often are. The struggles of these characters are real and startlingly contemporary, so we are letting our own young voices tell this story in a way that this generation of young people can recognize and understand.” Visit www.fbplayhouse.org or call 845/794-1194.
