Pike County sentencings

Pablo Antonio Garcia, age 44, of Bushkill, PA, was sentenced to 2 years to 5 years in a state correctional facility, fined $2,500.00 and had his driver’s license suspended for 18 months for the crimes of Terroristic Threats, Persons Not to Possess Firearms and Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled or Counterfeit Substance.  The state police observed Garcia in his vehicle parked along Milford Road in Lehman Township on November 11, 2015.  Upon making contact with Garcia, the trooper notice Garcia to have red, glassy eyes, constricted pupils and slow, sluggish movements.  A Field Sobriety Test showed impairment and a blood test confirmed the presence of Hydrocodone.  The state police responded to a residence in Lehman Township on April 29, 2017, where Garcia had shot windows out of a home during a domestic dispute and was threatening to kill an individual.  Garcia was found in possession of a weapon while there was an active PFA in existence.

John Franklin Hughes, age 23, of Honesdale, PA, was sentenced to 24 months to 48 months in a state correctional facility, fined $1,300.00 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crimes of Theft, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Harassment.  During a check by probation of Hughes at his residence in Greene Township on July 27, 2015, Hughes was found in possession of Heroin. On April 23, 2017, Hughes took a revolver from a residence located in Blooming Grove Township, without the owner’s permission. On August 26, 2017, Hughes struck an individual for refusing to let him borrow his vehicle.

Laszlo Kalman Horvath, age 83, of Dingmans Ferry, PA, was sentenced to a $25.00 fine for the Summary Offense of Retail Theft.  Horvath took $22.50 worth of merchandise from a retail store in Westfall Township on December 23, 2016, without paying for it.

Albert Frank Haase, age 53, of Stroudsburg, PA, was sentenced to 72 hours to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,000.00 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence.  The state police were dispatched to a one-vehicle crash along Kittatinny Drive in Lehman Township on July 13, 2015.  In speaking with Haase, the trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage and observed Haase to have red and bloodshot eyes.  A Field Sobriety Test showed impairment. Haase refused to submit to a blood test.

Michael Roger Tyler, age 28, of Milford, PA, was sentenced to 15 days to 1 year in the Pike County Jail and fined $300.00 for the crime of Simple Assault.  The state police responded to a residence in Porter Township on June 20, 2017, where Tyler acted in a threatening and aggressive manner, causing serious bodily injury to an individual.

Tyler Max Wendland, age 21, of Milford, PA, was sentenced to 30 days to 12 months in the Pike County Jail, followed by 90 days of probation and fined $350.00 for the crimes of Simple Assault and Disorderly Conduct.  The state police responded to a residence in Milford Borough on October 15, 2017, where an altercation had occurred during which Wendland acted in a threatening and violent manner.

Melissa Ann McKane, age 39, of Port Jervis, NY, was sentenced to 12 months of probation and fined $400.00 for the crime of Retail Theft.  McKane took a laptop valued at $559.00 from a retail store in Westfall Township on June 26, 2017, without paying for it.

Eric P. Horvay, age 43, of Greentown, PA, was sentenced to 2 years of probation and fined $500.00 for the crime of Theft.  Horvay took a chainsaw valued at $1,200.00 from a residence in Greene Township on April 14, 2017, without the permission of the owner.

Gary Thomas Sabo, age 59, of Bushkill, PA, was sentenced to 23 days to 12 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $300.00 for the crime of Simple Assault.  The state police were dispatched to a domestic dispute on October 29, 2017, at a residence in Lehman Township where during a verbal argument with an individual, Sabo knocked the individual to the floor and struck her head with a closed fist.

Thomas Michael Driber, age 27, of Dingmans Ferry, PA, was sentenced to 18 months of probation and fined $600.00 for the crimes of Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  While conducting interviews of neighboring property owners regarding a burglary that occurred at a residence, in Lehman Township on March 12, 2016, the state police found items that were stolen in Driber’s residence.  Driber was also found in possession of a Marihuana pipe, bong and grinder.
