PA State Police ask for identity of man who passed counterfeit bill

Posted

State Police at Dunmore are requesting assistance identifying the man in the attached photo. On 05/22/17, Burgit’s Electric City Taxi picked up a white male with a tattoo on his right forearm/hand, wearing a ball cap with a Nike Swoosh from Scottish Inns in Dunmore, PA and drove to an apartment building on SR 438 in Benton Twp.  Upon arrival, the fare handed the taxi driver a counterfeit $100.00 bill to pay for the $50.00 trip.  The taxi driver used a marker to determine the bill was counterfeit and advised the fare of same.  The fare advised the driver he would be able to obtain cash to pay for the trip from a friend who lives in one of the apartments, exited the taxi and failed to return to pay the driver.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact State police at Dunmore 570-9633156. Businesses are advised to be on the lookout for counterfeit money being passed in the area
