REGION — The Lackawaxen River Conservancy will offer two scholarships this year to area students interested in pursuing a career in a field related to environmental conservation. Continuing a program it inaugurated in 2012, the Conservancy is offering a $500 scholarship to a senior graduating from one of the four high schools in the Lackawaxen River watershed, namely, Honesdale, Western Wayne, Wallenpaupack and Canaan Christian Academy. In addition, it is offering a second $500 scholarship to a past graduate from one of those schools who is currently enrolled in college and has completed at least one semester of course work. The applications and requirements for the two awards can be obtained from the Conservancy’s website, www.lackawaxenriver.org. The deadline for submission is April 15, 2014.
