Audubon announces scholarship opportunities

NORTHEAST PA — Audubon is offering scholarships to residents of Wayne, Lackawanna, Susquehanna, and northern Pike counties. Applications for all of them are on the Audubon’s website at www.nepaaudubon.org/about/scholarships.

A $4,000 scholarship is available to a high school senior who wishes to pursue a career in an environmental field such as forestry, natural resources, environmental planning, environmental engineering, fish, game, or wildlife management, ecology and/or environmental science. Applications are due to NEPA Audubon Society by April 30.

A full scholarship is available for an adult and a related child 8 to 12 years old to attend the Hog Island family camp in Maine. Applications are due by April 1. Go to hogisland.audubon.org to learn more about the island.

Three full scholarships are available for 11 to 17 year olds to attend camps run by the New York Department of Environmental Conservation at various times and locations. Applications are due by April 1. Go to www.dec.ny.gov/education/29.html to see more, including dates and locations of camps.
