LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — They say 10 miles hiking the Devil’s Path, a well-known Catskill trail, is like 20 miles hiking anywhere else. Come find out why on Friday, October 11 at 6 p.m., at Morgan Outdoors in Livingston Manor. Jeff Senterman will bring stories, details and photographs of several challenging long-distance trails in the Catskill Mountains: the Long Path, the Devil’s Path and the Escarpment Trail. Senterman is the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference Senior Program Coordinator and editor of a forthcoming guide to Catskills trails.

For some, it will be an evening of armchair travel, for others it might spark future hikes or backpacking adventures. Map lovers will enjoy the variety of topographic hiking maps that Senterman will have on hand. Fingers can trace a favorite trail and first-time hikers can find an outing that’s just their speed.

RSVP by calling Morgan Outdoors 845/439-5507. This event is free and there will be refreshments. This is one of over 50 planned events for the 10th annual Lark in the Park. For the full schedule, go to www.catskillslark.org or pick one up at Morgan Outdoors.
