PEEC introduces Sportsman Series with class on fly fishing

Dingmans Ferry, PA — The Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) is hosting a new series for outdoor sport enthusiasts. The first class in the Sportsman Series, Introduction to Fly Fishing, will focus on beginner skills for the amateur fly fisher. Tom Battista from the Brodhead Chapter of Trout Unlimited will teach several new skills, including knot tying and casting. This program will take place on April 28, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. The cost is $20 for one class, or $50 to attend all three classes in the Sportsman Series.

The Sportsman Series will continue with a second program, “Bring Out Your Dead” on July 20 from 1 to 3 p.m. This program will be led by Ronald Lewis of the Pennsylvania Taxidermy Association. The final program in the Sportsman Series will be “White Tailed Deer from A to Z” on November 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
