FERNDALE, NY — You can learn to become a Master Gardener through Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County through a 15-week training program that will begin September 6 at the Gerald J. Skoda Education Center. Up to 20 individuals will be accepted into the program after an application and interview process.

Begun in 1975 in New York State, the Master Gardener’s Program combines a set curriculum, learning experiences and hands-on training. Training dates will run every Thursday from September 6 through January 31. Snow dates are also built into the schedule. The cost is $200 with $50 returned to those who complete the training and required 100 hours of volunteer service.

Applications are available www.sullivancce.org or at the extension office at 64 Ferndale Loomis Rd. Call 845/292-6180.
