LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — On Saturday, April 21, The Long Island Fly Rodders (LIFR), the Theodore Gordon Flyfishers (TGF) and three Boy Scout troops from Long Island will meet at the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum (CFFCM) at 8:30 a.m. to clean the banks of the Willowemoc Creek and Beaverkill River.

The annual Stream Clean event, now in its 12th year, was designed by the LIFR to give back to the river, fish and community that have given them so much pleasure in the past.

After meeting in the CFFCM upper parking lots, Stream Clean volunteers are given trash bags and a route along the river to remove debris that litters the stream banks and stream. Many hands make light work. The day starts at 8:30 a.m. and should be completed by 12:30 p.m., followed by a free barbeque lunch provided by LIFR and ample time to fish.

This is the second year LIFR will be joined by TGF, a not-for-profit angling organization founded on American fly-fishing traditions. This year, the three Boy Scout troops will not only help clean the river banks, but work toward their fly-fishing merit badge. Call 845/439-4810.
