What lives in Lake Wallenpaupack?

LAKE WALLENPAUPACK, PA — Nick Spinelli, director of the Lake Wallenpaupack Watershed Management District, will lead a session on what live in Lake Wallenpaupack from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, at PPL’s Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center. Participants will collect samples from the lake and view them under microscopes in the water quality lab. The Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center is part of PPL’s Wallenpaupack hydroelectric project, built in 1926 near Hawley, Pa. The learning center is off Route 6 just east of the intersection of Routes 590 and 6 and next to Wallenpaupack Area High School. The learning center offers programs and workshops to teachers, students and the public on the environment, conservation and the lake. Visit www.pplweb.com.
