MILFORD, PA — The Pike County Commissioners will hold their 15th annual fishing derby for children under 16 years of age on Saturday, April 16 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon, at Lily Pond in Pike County Park (off Rt. 6 on Schocopee Road). There is no fee for the event, and registration will be held the day of the event. Prizes will be awarded by age group.
Approximately 1,500 trout will be stocked by the state and 400 trout will be stocked by Pike County, ranging from 13 to 24 inches, for the event. Stocking will take place on Friday, April 15 at 5 p.m. Children are welcome to come and help with the stocking of the fish.
Participants must be accompanied by an adult and Pennsylvania fishing rules and regulations apply. Bait and loaner rods will be available, but supplies are limited. Call 5470/296-3569 to reserve a rod and reel.
