DINGMANS FERRY, PA — The Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC), 538 Emery Rd., has a seris of events planned for the next two weekends that will give you an opportunity to explore on foot or by boat, and get up close with critters from dragonflies to frogs. Registration is required unless otherwise noted.

On Saturday, July 22 from 1 to 3 p.m. there will be a Dragonfly Walk. Learn about the wonderful world of dragonflies. Join David Trently on a search through the fields and around the ponds for dragonflies and butterflies. The cost is $5.

On Sunday, July 23 from 1 to 3 p.m., go on a hike to learn about how nature provides food and natural remedies for us in the form of many plants. No collecting will be done within the park. The cost is $5.

On Saturday, July 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be a “Bridge the Gap” day paddle, free, courtesy of the William Penn Foundation. Go on a free paddle down the Delaware. Bring a lunch and a water bottle, and dress for the weather. PEEC will provide extra water and snacks. Choose between a canoe or kayak.

On Sunday, July 30 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, there will be a Frog Frolic, a fun afternoon at PEEC’s ponds and streams. Learn about some of our frog friends as we gently catch and release these hopping amphibians.  Wear boots and plan on getting a little wet and muddy. The cost is $5.

For more information or to register visit www.peec.org, email peec@peec.org or call 570/828-2319.
