Richard D. Dailey of Cochecton Center, NY, a lifelong resident and a retired laborer for Local 17 Labor Union, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2014 at Creekside Health & Rehab Center in Carbondale, PA. He was 85.

He was the son of the late Emmitt and Frances Case Dailey, he was born January 4, 1929 in Cochecton Center.

Rich was born and raised on the family farm. He enjoyed hunting, haying and managed the Nutshell. He worked in his younger days for Manor Poultry as a driver. He also had a logging business.

He is survived by his six children, Wayne Dailey and his wife Catherine of Wallkill, NY, Jeannette Fornassari and her husband Dennis of Liberty, NY, Donald Dailey and his fiancée Barberette Westmorland of Cochecton Center, NY, Rutt Motts and her husband Peter of Livingston Manor, NY, Sara Dailey of Florida and Steven Dailey and his wife Jennifer of Cochecton Center, NY; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Richard is predeceased by his son, Richard Dailey Jr.; and his 12 siblings.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday, January 23, 2014 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 90 Main St. Narrowsburg, NY.

Cremation will follow at Maple Hill Crematory. Burial of his cremains will be in Laurel Cemetery, Cochecton Center, NY.
