Henry Lloyd Parker of Eldred, NY passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. He was 68.

He was born August 3, 1948 in Nashville, TN, the son of the late Henry Cole Parker and the late Inez Jennings Parker, brother to the late Harriette Parker. Lloyd was often seen walking the roads around Eldred, filming with his video camera. His body was found near his beloved river, the muse for many of his spiritual and artistic pursuits. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education at Antioch University. Not long after, he moved to California, where he spent nearly half of his life. It was there he met and married his partner of many years, Jane Wang. He made a career out of filmography, civil rights activism, marine wildlife research, teaching, and many artistic ventures, including but not limited to designing Zen fountains, painting seashells and selling them as astral communicators, and making films for meditation. He pursued many passions, all with heart, kindness and intention.

He is survived by his nephew Colin McArthur of Portland, OR, and loved by many friends and relatives who remember him for his love, laughter, whimsical spirit, sense of wonder, and passionate support of many worthy causes.

A family statement reads: Because those who love Lloyd are many and spread out all over the country, there will be no visitation, and memorial services will be held privately. We hope that all those who have known Lloyd will take a moment to acknowledge his kind, adventurous spirit whenever they pass their favorite river.

Cremation will be at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford, PA.

Memorial donations can be made to an environmental, civil rights or peace organization of your choice.

Funeral arrangements are by the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY 12771. For additional information or to send a condolence note to the family, please visit www.grayparkerfuneralhome.com.
