Carole Louise Grogan Jablkowski passed away peacefully with family by her side on February 6, 2017 in Sarasota, FL. She was 79.

Carole was born in Worcester, MA on January 9, 1938. She was the daughter of Leo and Mary Brule. Carole grew up and lived in Astoria, NY until 1972 when she moved to Barryville, NY with her first husband Thomas B. Grogan until his passing. Carole continued to live in Barryville with her second husband, John Jablkowski, until they moved to Port Charlotte, FL in 2001. Carole continued to live in Port Charlotte after John’s passing. 

Carole was most recently employed at The Sun in Port Charlotte, FL in sales and took pride in her work as well as enjoying the wonderful friendships she had made over the years. Her friends Donna, Stephanie and Laura were a great support system in good times and in bad and were always there for Carole without question. During Carole’s 79 years, she was an active participant in the PTA in Astoria, Queens; she was an avid fisherman, loved bingo, enjoyed movies, loved reading and going on Sunday rides to peruse the local yard sales. She enjoyed living on the Delaware River in Barryville and hosting many friends for get-togethers while she lived there. Her biggest passion was her three grandchildren, Amanda, Antal and Alexander. Whether they were going to Disney World with her or just talking on the phone, they were the light of her life.

Carole is survived by her daughter Lisa R. Bercze and her husband Antal of Narrowsburg; her three grandchildren, Amanda Lauren Bercze, Antal Thomas Bercze and Alexander Jozsef Bercze; her cousin Stephanie Connolly of Palmyra VA; her cousin Roz Bolski of Palmyra, VA; her brother-in-law Ted and his wife  Kathy Jablkowski of Waterford, CT and their daughter Jaclyn Whitneyand and her husband Joe of Brooklyn, NY; their daughter Jessica Gale and her husband Dan and children Jenna and Jake of Stow, MA; her sister-in-law Carole Ramsey and her husband Peter of Lakewood, NJ and their daughter Keri DiMatteo and her husband Joe and their children Sonny and Gio of Brick, NJ; her step-son Thomas B. Grogan Jr. of Destin, FL, her best friend for over 50 years Marie Orlacchio and her husband Anthony of Smithtown, NY and their daughter Dawn Carvallho and her husband Ken and their children Jade and Brandon and their son Dean Orlacchio and his wife Kim.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, and burial will be at Montoza Cemetery in Barryville, NY. Sympathies may be sent to the family at PO Box 197, Narrowsburg NY 12764.
