Laurie Marie Barnes Trotti of Livingston Manor, NY, died in her home on January 1, 2012 after a fierce battle with cancer. She was 58.

Laurie joined her husband, Robert F. Trotti Sr., in eternal sleep.

Laurie was born on December 27, 1953 in Barryville, NY to the late Elsa and Allen Barnes. She is survived by siblings Larry, Elsa, Anita, Arthur and Allen.

She graduated from Eldred Central School and attended Sullivan County Community College. She worked many years at Livingston Manor Central School; dedicated her energy to assisting battered women and children with Safe Passage in Liberty, NY; and then worked for the Sullivan County government. A family statement reads, in part: “Laurie’s gentle, unassuming manner inspired many to find hidden strength and ability and she will leave a large void in many lives.”

She is also survived by children Teresa, Glenn, Victoria, Stephanie, Robert Jr., Laurie Ann, Patricia, Richard, Jacqueline and Angela; grandchildren Tara, Alyssa, Jenna, Anthony, Julia, Kara, Gemma, Scarlett, Aiden, Frederic, Michael and Emily; and one great grandchild.

A memorial service was officiated by Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst for family and friends at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl St., Livingston Manor, NY 12759, followed by a celebration of Laurie’s life at the Livingston Manor Fire House.
