Donald H. Hauschild of Jeffersonville, NY, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at home. He was 77.

The son of the late Lawrence and Blanche Levy Hauschild, he was born January 19, 1934 in Liberty, NY.

He was an employee of the A&P Company for 28 years and Malcolm Back Sanitation for 18 years. He was married to Barbara Williams Hauschild.

Donald was a 56-year member and past chief, past president and past vice president of Protection Hose Company No. 1 in Jeffersonville; a Fire Commissioner of the Jeffersonville Fire District; a member of the Sullivan County Firemen’s Association; Firemen’s Association of the State of New York (FASNY); the Hudson Valley Firemen’s Association; Emmett Turner American Legion Post No. 276; and the National Rifle Association. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.

Donald enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends, especially his three grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife at home; sons William and wife Dawn Hauschild and John and wife Dawn Renee Hauschild of Jeffersonville; grandchildren Stephanie, Collin and Gavin Hauschild, all of Jeffersonville; two sisters-in-law Jane and husband Harold Gates of Palm City, FL and Nancy and husband Barry DiBona of Port St. Lucie, FL; brother-in-law William Martin and wife Cindy of Griswold, CT; and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his brother, Robert Hauschild, and by sister-in-law Betty Martin.

Services were held on Wednesday, September 21 at the Jeffersonville Firehouse. Firematic services were held Tuesday evening, September 20 at the firehouse. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Youngsville, NY.
