Emily Virginia Hallock went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday July 30, 2011. She was 77.

Emily was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Douglas Joseph Hallock, who passed away in 1995.

Born May 31, 1934, in Shohola PA, she was the daughter of Francis and Margaret Harder Knecht.

Emily retired from the U.S. Postal Service, where she was a rural letter carrier. She was a member of the Narrowsburg Methodist Church, Tusten Historical Society, and was former Town of Tusten Historian. Her greatest joys in life were her church, family and genealogy work. She enjoyed spending hours searching for long-lost relatives and contributed greatly to the Historical Society.

Surviving are her sons Clark (children Heather, Amanda, Marlena, Ray, and Corrin) and Scott; daughters Jenny Snedeker and husband (children Craig and Dawn) and Dawn Martin and husband Edwin (children Beth and Rebecca); two grandchildren; sister Dorothy Foster and husband Douglas; brother Francis Knecht and wife Linda; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services took place at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, Narrowsburg on Tuesday, August 2, 2011. Interment was at the Glen Cove Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the Narrowsburg Methodist Church, Tusten Historical Society or Orange Sullivan Hospice.
