‘Hello Dolly!’ presented at Monticello High

March 29, 2012

MONTICELLO, NY — Monticello High School students will present “Hello Dolly!” on Friday and Saturday, March 30 and 31, at 7:30 p.m. in the Arnold Packer Hughs Auditorium.

Based on the play “The Matchmaker” by Thornton Wilder, with a Tony Award-winning book by Michael Stewart and music and lyrics by Jerry Herman, the musical tells the story of a charming widow, Dolly Levi. “What do you do for a living, Mrs. Levi?” asks Ambrose Kemper in the opening scene. “Some people paint, some sew... I meddle,” replies Dolly.

There are nearly 100 students involved in this production on stage, theatre orchestra, stage crew, house management and costuming.

Tickets are available at the door and are priced at $5 for adults, $3 for students and senior citizens free. Call 845/794-8840, ext. 10501.
