Rando dropped as Shohola UDC rep

January 3, 2012

At their organizational meeting, the Shohola Township supervisors approved the appointment of Patricia Jeffers, a woman owning 300 acres along the river in Shohola, as the township’s Upper Delaware Council (UDC) representative, in place of Scott Rando, who has represented the township on the UDC council for four years.

“It’s time for a change,” said Greg Hoeper, who made the motion in favor of Jeffers. “She is a strong proponent of property rights,” he said.

When Hoeper and George J. Fluhr, chairman of the township board, were asked to clarify their position, Fluhr said, “There’s a dispute going on at the Upper Delaware Council between those in favor of excessive regulation and those in favor of property rights. We feel that Jeffers comes down in the middle of the dispute, since she is strong in working for the environment and strong for property rights.”

Rando had been nominated vice chairman of the UDC for 2012.
