Marlene Mary Schields of Levittown, PA passed away at home on Wednesday, December 7, 2011. She was 75.

Marlene was born in Middletown, NY.

She graduated from Cortland University, Cortland, NY in 1958, with a degree in elementary education. She taught special education in the Finderne School District and at Gayman Elementary in the Central Bucks County District. She served at the Reformed Churches in Germantown, NY, Finderne, NJ, Danboro, PA and Levittown when she resided in these communities alongside her husband, the late Rev. Kenneth G. Schields Sr.

Marlene was an avid reader, enjoyed collecting antiques, gardening, her time singing with the Rutgers University Choir and spending time with her loved ones.

Marlene is survived by her children Kenneth G. Schields Jr. and Nancy L. Schields, both of Levittown; granddaughter Elizabeth Schields-Pouw of Colorado Springs, CO; brother and sister-in-law Robert E. and Phyllis Schields of Sparrowbush, NY; niece Stacey Moegenburg and husband Richard Librizzi of New Paltz, NY and Darla Schields and daughter Kayla Flieger, of Highland Lake, NY; stepsister Paula Ferretti of Bayport, NY; and her furry family members, Ernie and Bobby.

Marlene is also predeceased by her parents George and Olga Beyea; infant sister Arlene Beyea; and furry companion Finky.

A service was held on Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Port Jervis, NY, with. Rev. Ann Rost officiating. Interment took place at the Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville, NY.
