Damascus Township

Typically, supervisors have doubled as road masters in Damascus. Do you think it is important to maintain this tradition, or would it be as good or better to separate the responsibilities?

No response received from candidate.

DOLORES KEESLER - Running for Town Supervisor (D)

Quoting the supervisors handbook: “…Supervisors have a statutory duty to repair and maintain public roads… In many rural townships, supervisors actively work on the roads, serving as roadmasters or laborers… however, there is no requirement for supervisors to work on the roads… ”

Since being a roadmaster is not a qualification for being supervisor, the most qualified person to oversee the roads should be hired for those duties. Keeping these two positions separate fosters better accountability.
