August 11, 2011

MONTICELLO, NY — The Friends of the Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library will auction off chairs painted by local artists as a fundraiser on Saturday, August 13 during the library’s celebration of its 75th anniversary, at 3 p.m.

If you will be unable to attend that day, you can bid by visiting www.ebcrawfordlibrary.org, scrolling down to the bottom of the home page and click on “painted chair auction.” Among the chairs are one inspired by Lewis Carroll’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” by Robert J. Kaisser Middle School art teacher Tricia Cahalan and a chair decoupaged by Vera B. Williams, illustrator of the Caldecott Honor book “A Chair For My Mother.” Call 845/794-4660, ext. 6.
