February 28, 2014 —
On February 27th, the New York State Police in Ellenville, announce the arrest of John F. Miller, age 50, of New Windsor, NY, for Forgery, Identity Theft, Reckless Endangerment and Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer.
The investigation commenced when the Town of Wawarsing court issued a bench warrant for a subject who failed to appear before the court for a 2009 arrest involving a Police pursuit in the town. Investigators learned through arrest photos and fingerprints that the individual listed on the warrant was not the person arrested during the pursuit. The investigation revealed that John F. Miller had assumed and used the name and identity of a family member during the arrest in 2009 causing numerous fraudulent documents to be generated.
John F. Miller was arrested, processed and arraigned in the Village of Ellenville Court before Town Justice Harvey Levine who remanded Miller to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000.00 cash bail to reappear in the Town of Wawarsing Court on March 7th, 2014 at 8:30am.
