‘Honesdale for the holidays’

HONESDALE, PA — Historic Honesdale offers up holiday hospitality during its annual “Honesdale for the Holidays” event on Friday and Saturday, November 29 and 30. Gift shops, stores and businesses, the Wayne County Historical Society Museum and more will host open houses. Carolers will stroll the streets, and holiday music will ring out at the Fred Miller Pavilion at Seventh and Main streets with D.J. Tom Emanski.
Santa arrives with a parade on Friday evening at 6 p.m. kicking off at Fourth and Main streets, proceeding north to Tenth Street and then on to Central Park, where activities will continue, including the lighting of the Christmas star on Irving Cliff, the lighting of the Christmas tree in the park and singing of carols.
On Saturday, craft vendors will dot Main Street near the pavilion, and not far away, the Stourbridge Model Railroad Club will host an open house in the Grace Episcopal Parish Hall at 827 Church St. from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On both days, shoppers and visitors are invited to take advantage of a free trolley service with eight convenient stops.
