BETHEL, NY — The Stray Cat Gallery on Route 17B will hold an opening reception for its new show, “Arabesque,” on Saturday, November 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. The show runs from Friday, November 22 to Wednesday, December 4. The show will feature three artists who have a fascination with pattern, which they employ in their works to create diverse interpretations of nature.

Linda Bastian examines the transitory state of nature in gardens and florals, capturing the light and shadow cast through lattice-worked windows. Intricate patterns of cloth suggesting forms that lie beneath are contrasted with masterfully painted skies in Joan Lesikin’s work. Hana Marritz expresses her love of wildlife in collages made from tiny bits of paper and chicken-wire sculptures made into figures of angels and animals.

Gallery hours are Friday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., or call 845/583-3141 for appointment. Visit www.straycatgallery.com.
