Town of Callicoon couple recommends voting “A” all the way

October 23, 2013

As a long-time residents of the Town of Callicoon, my husband Dennis and I know our local government affects everything we treasure about where we live. And because we care so much about our town, we strongly support Nancy Lee for town supervisor, Ken Hilton and Van Morrow for town board, and our great neighbor and friend, Kris Scullion for highway supervisor.

As former educators, we value people who have dedicated their professional lives to helping young adults develop into productive citizens. Nancy Lee is a former department chairperson and teacher at Fallsburg High School. She knows how to build relationships and create community, and she has prior experience serving on the town board. As supervisor, I feel confident that she will listen to her constituents and represent all voices in our town.

Ken Hilton also has valuable leadership skills. As a former superintendent of schools, he understands the importance of team effort and knows how to build on the strengths of others. He is organized, confident and effective. He will be an extremely valuable addition to the town board.

Van Morrow has developed his own businesses and is interested in sharing his ideas regarding economic development. As a member of the chamber of commerce and other civic organizations, he has also shown himself to be a team player.

I don’t want to forget Kris Scullion, running for highway superintendent. He’s done a brilliant job of taking care of our roads. He’s humble, dedicated to his work and the neatest person I ever met—no one stacks up winter logs as uniformly as Kris.

These are great candidates. Their experience, their commitment to “all voices being heard” and their collaborative approach to government are all reasons to vote for them. So on November 5, vote Row A all the way.
