Guitar duo to play at Grey Towers

The guitar duo Michael Newman and Laura Oltman

August 14, 2013

MILFORD, PA — The Newman and Oltman Guitar Duo will present a “Classics New and Old” concert at Grey Towers, the former Pinchot family estate and National Historic Site, on Saturday, August 17 beginning at 5:30 p.m. The program includes works by Piazzolla, Albeniz and Giuliani—the 19th-century composer, not the mayor—as well as modern guitar music they have commissioned, including “Raritan Triptych” and “No Feathers on this Frog.”

Newman and Oltman have served as ensemble-in-residence at New York City’s Mannes College of Music for 25 years. They have performed all over the world, winning rave reviews at Carnegie Hall, the Caramoor Festival and other major venues.

Tickets cost $20 at the door or $15 with advance purchase at www.kindredspiritsarts.org; children under 15 are admitted free. Tickets are also on sale at Books and Prints at Pear Alley, 220 Broad Street, Milford.
