Joan F. Kingdon

Mrs. Joan F. Kingdon of Matamoras, PA and a longtime resident of the area died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, NY with her family by her side. She was 78.

She was born May 14, 1934 in Queens, NY, the daughter of the late Charles Reynolds and the late Charlotte O’Callahan Reynolds.

Joan married Howard J. Kingdon, Sr. 54 years ago on June 14, 1958 in Queens, NY.

She was the bank manager for Middletown Savings Bank on Pike Street in Port Jervis. Joan was a life member of Roosa-Fleming V.F.W. Post No. 161 Ladies Auxiliary, Port Jervis. A family statement read: “Mom was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.”

Surviving are her husband, Howard Kingdon, Sr. at home; her sons, Howard Kingdon, Jr. and his wife Donna of Woodbury, CT, and Charles Kingdon of Lancaster, PA; a daughter, Linda King and her husband Tim of Matamoras, PA; a brother, Charles Reynolds and his wife Pat of Brentwood, Long Island, NY; a sister, Charlotte Schof of Shohola, PA; six grandchildren, Jordan and Jack Kingdon, Nicholas and Zachary King, Kyle and Dillon Kingdon; and several nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her twin brother John Reynolds and brother-in-law Joseph Schof.

There will be no visitation and services will be private.
