Sullivan County fish stocking program open

SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — Local officials remind residents that it is once again time to consider stocking ponds with fish.

The Sullivan County Soil & Water Conservation District has launched its annual fish stocking program. This year they are selling both bass and trout at the same time. If a pond seems to have excessive vegetation the owner may want to consider grass carp.

If owners are interested in stocking their pond with largemouth bass, fathead minnows, rainbow trout, brook trout or grass carp, they should call the Conservation District at 845/292-6552 and request an order form to be mailed, or they may go online at sullivan swcd.org. The district will be accepting orders until Monday, May 30.
