LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — A Livingston Manor man was arrested by New York State troopers on December 5, for threatening other people in the house with a knife and destroying the interior of the house. Troopers arrested Neal McCarthy, age 44. While under arrest, McCarthy was also found to be in possession of suboxone, an opiate substitute.
McCarthy was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a felony; menacing, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanors; and harassment, a violation.
McCarthy was arraigned in the Town of Rockland Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail with no bail set. At the time of arrest, McCarthy was under the supervision of the Sullivan County Department of Probation. That agency has filed a probation violation.
