BRIDGEVILLE, NY — On Sunday, July 6 at approximately 1:40 p.m., Sullivan County 911 reported an erratic driver heading westbound at a high rate of speed on State Route 17 near exit 112. A short time later the vehicle, a black 2014 Dodge Charger, left the highway at exit 106, and it was reported that an occupant had pointed a gun at another driver.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene on Cimarron Road and waited. When the suspect realized Cimarron Road was a dead end, he drove back towards the exit and was stopped in front of Rea Ford. The driver, Gedaliya Rauch, 18, of Monsey, was taken into custody. An Airsoft BB gun was recovered from under the front seat.

The car that Rauch was operating had tinted windows and two fake radio antennas mounted on the trunk. Both the driver, and a passenger who was not charged in the incident, admitted to deputies that the car was intended to look like an unmarked police vehicle. Rauch was charged with misdemeanor menacing and reckless endangerment.
