NARROWSBURG, NY — New York State Police at Narrowsburg have arrested Rafael Olivio, 56, and Melvin Santiago, 58, both of Narrowsburg, for the violation of unlawful possession of marijuana.

On June 5, police responded to a call from a residential facility to investigate the odor of marijuana in the building. While on the scene, the trooper detected the odor of marijuana coming out of room 110. The trooper interviewed the occupants of the room, Olivio and Santiago. Both subjects admitted to smoking in their room and each man was found to be in possession of a marijuana cigarette.

Olivio and Santiago were arrested and issued appearance tickets to appear in the Town of Tusten Court on June 12 at 5 p.m.

According to the website of the law firm Crotty and Saland, “if you plead guilty to a violation you will not have a criminal record,” and can’t be sentenced to more than 15 days in jail.
