New digs for Catskill Mountainkeeper

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The environmental advocacy group Catskill Mountainkeeper held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 16 in front of its new office in Livingston Manor. The organization, which started with two staff members in 2006, has grown to a staff of nine now, and needed more room to function effectively. The new office is located on Main Street, which is known for being submerged beneath floodwaters from time to time; therefore care has been taken to flood-proof the property as much as possible.

The organization, which also has an office in Woodstock, says its mission is “committed to being the strongest and most effective possible advocate for the Catskill region. Working through a network of concerned citizens, we promote sustainable growth and protect the natural resources essential to healthy communities.”
