LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY — Newly re-elected Supervisor Gary Maas welcomed newly elected Councilperson Sean Nearing (who replaces Richard Schulman) to the board and newly re-elected Councilperson Edwin Grund back to the board at the Cochecton Town Board’s January 3 reorganization meeting. Councilpersons Anna Story and Larry Richardson complete the current board.

In addition to defining board member responsibilities and making committee assignments and official appointments, the board established its regular meeting schedule as 7:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at 74 Smales Rd. in Lake Huntington. A board work session will precede each monthly meeting at 7 p.m.

For the most part, returning board members retained their 2013 responsibilities and committee assignments. However, Grund assumed Schulman’s Office of the Aging liaison responsibilities, and Nearing was named as Upper Delaware Council liaison Richardson’s alternate. Story took on a newly-created role as liaison with the fire district.

Acting Town Attorney Karen Mannino was named Town Attorney. Highway Superintendent Kevin Esselman has designated Phil Grisafe to serve as working supervisor whenever Esselman is unavailable. Bridget Lounsbury and Darlene Dumas will share responsibilities as town bookkeeper.

Engineering Properties PC will continue to serve as the town’s engineering firm, and Cooper Arias LLP continues as the town’s auditors. The Sullivan County Democrat is the town’s official newspaper for 2014, with special entries to be awarded occasionally to The River Reporter.

Tax Collector Eileen Hennessy informed Maas that credit card payment of tax bills is now available; instruction for using this new service accompanies January tax bills. Payment by credit card can be made either online or in-person at 74 Smales Rd.

Complete meeting minutes and full text of all resolutions can be found at townofcochectonny.org.
