Kids take delight at Santa in the night

Hundreds of people turned out to see Santa Claus and his pals on Saturday night in Narrowsburg in front of the old school. Many kids ran around in the snow, slipping and sliding down the hill, as they awaited Santa’s arrival. Soon music and lights could be heard as the Santa Express made its way onto Bridge Street from Route 97, after already making stops in Eldred, Glen Spey, Barryville and Yulan.

The Santa Express is a spectacle and production like no other. The large float has buildings, reindeer, candy canes, decorations and more, all lit up with colorful Christmas lights. It stopped in front of the school and Santa and his North Pole friends made their way to the street to greet the large crowd. There were Mrs. Claus, a gingerbread man, a snow queen, elves, a snowman, a polar bear and more. Music played as they danced with the delighted kids and passed out candy. They also stopped to take photos with the kids, as their parents happily looked on. After more than half an hour, Santa departed and made his way back to the North Pole.

Did you miss the Santa Express? Don’t worry; it’s coming to a town near you. On Saturday, December 14 it will stop at Bethel Town Square, Horseshoe Lake Road in Bethel at 5:30 p.m. and at Main Street in Liberty at 7 p.m. On Sunday, December 15 it will stop at Rotary Corner in Monticello at 5 p.m. and 5193 Main St. in South Fallsburg at 6:30 p.m. It had previously stopped in Port Jervis.
