The Towns of Bethel and Cochecton Republican Committees recently met at the Catskill Distilling Company. Special guest U.S. Congressman Chris Gibson was in attendance as well as other Sullivan County elected officials. Town committee chairmen Harold Russell (Bethel) and Gary Maas (Cochecton) invited area Republicans to join them in renewing the Republican spirit at the town level.
Local political committees provide the foundation and infrastructure for recruiting and electing candidates and play an essential role in the election process. The following candidates have been endorsed: Rita Sheehan, (incumbent town clerk), Cirino Bruno and James DiLeo, town councilman, and James Crowley for highway superintendent. The Bethel Committee will be holding a celebrity politician server brunch later in September.
