The Greater Pike Community Foundation (GPCF) announced its executive officers and committee chairs in April. Legally incorporated late in 2012, the GPCF was created to maximize charitable donations from individuals, families and local businesses through organized targeted community philanthropy.
At the April 4 board meeting, the following were elected: James Pedranti, board chair; Kirk Mackey, vice chair; Rosann Kalish, secretary; Robert Pierce, treasurer; and John “Duke” Schneider, chair of the Governance/Nominating Committee. All of the above will also sit on the foundation’s executive committee.
GPCF is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit philanthropic institution created by civic volunteers for the long-term benefit of the greater Pike County area. Community foundations administer various types of charitable assets according to guidelines established by each donor, to maximize the long-term positive impact of their support, and to enable donors to pursue their charitable objectives while realizing the best tax benefits allowed by law.
“GPCF provides a permanent and personal way to give back to the region we love and have worked so hard to nurture and maintain,” said Richard Snyder, who began working with others several years ago to organize the foundation.
