At the commissioners meeting on February 21, the Wayne County Historical Society was granted permission by the commissioners to have access to the Old Stone Jail and the Bethel School for the tourism season.

Also, Matthew Berger, MD was presented with a two-year contract renewal to perform psychiatric services at the Wayne County Correctional Facility (WCCF) for detainees. Additionally, commissioners voted that out-patient drug and alcohol treatment services will be offered to the WCCF residents upon dismissal. Commissioner Wendell Kay said “The judge (Raymond Hamill) acknowledges a need for such services and feels strongly that such treatments should be offered to the residents.”

In another matter, an award contract for dam mowing for the years 2013, 2014, and 2015 was given to Elite Lawn Care Plus of Bethany, PA.
