Developer Louis Cappelli is proposing the development of a casino along with town houses and many other components at the location of the former Grossinger's Catskill Resort Hotel at the intersection of State Route 17 (soon to be Interstate Route 86) and State Route 52 in Liberty.
At a town board meeting on August 19, Kevin McManus, representing Cappelli and a company called Sullivan Resorts, addressed the board and members of the public, explaining some of the details of the plan.
Some members of the public expressed skepticism because of Cappelli's track record with the Concord property in Monticello, but the board members indicated they support the plan, and would like to see it move forward.
