Callicoon library to get a facelift

Posted

The Delaware Free Library on Main Street in Callicoon will be getting an upgrade starting later this month, thanks to a donation from a local patron and a New York State library construction grant, in addition to existing library funds. Work is expected to be completed sometime in 2013.

Among the amenities to be added to the library, which is located in a building dating from 1913 and was originally the home of the old Callicoon National Bank, will be an elevator accessing all three floors of the library and a restroom compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

There will be a space created on the third floor that can be used for public meetings, performances and other group uses.

Just in Time Contracting of Callicoon recieved the contract for the renovation.
