The Heron Restaurant opens in Narrowsburg

The storefront that until recently was the home of the Main Street Café in Narrowsburg has a new restaurant and new proprietors. Marla Puccetti and Paul Nanni opened the doors of The Heron with a soft opening on January 14, and are now open for business. Nanni said that initially the restaurant will be open for breakfast and lunch on the weekdays, and brunch and dinners on the weekend.

The couple became acquainted with the area when friends bought a weekend home here two years ago. But, so far, Pucetti said, they have only been up here in the winter. “We fell in love with it, the town is really cute and charming and the people are really nice,” she said. Also, the timing was right; they were looking for a new venture and they heard about the availability of the space.

Like other chefs in the region, Nanni has plans to keep the food as local as possible. “Working with local farms is really important to us,” Puccetti said. “Paul is excited about working with farmers and creating his menus around what they have available.”

The restaurant can be reached at 845/252-3333.
